I have already spoken extensively in past posts about this site being different from the many out there on the Internet that are dedicated to promoting their own brand of Scottsdale Golf Packages. Instead, Scottsdale Greens tells you like it is and offers a much broader range of accommodations, golf and services - How? by not confining our allegiance to just one golf operator. We promote only a handful of those that offer the best service, prices and accountability. They all have different products and services. Some may be more into offering vacation rentals (privately owned condos or homes) others may be more hotel and resort connected, offering packages that include air, car, hotel, and golf. Some may do just golf or hotel on an ala carte basis but they all have one thing in common, they live and work in Scottsdale.

Declaration of Independence

My site operates independently, allowing me to give you the benefit of an insiders knowledge. I do my best to provide honest and  entertaining (hopefully) reviews of Scottsdale's Golf Courses, Scottsdale's Hotels and Resorts, Scottsdale's Area Attractions and Scottsdale's Best Places To Shop. I have been known to throw in some Scottsdale history along the way. We try to look at Scottsdale Golf Vacations from the eyes of our visitors, anticipating your questions and providing you with a comfort level for our partner websites. I have been the leader of golf groups and taken golf tours of my own to a lot of destinations all over the world and I know what golfers want.

We Represent YOU! The Golfer 

Scottsdale Greens likes to think of themselves as sort of a Consumer Reports of the Scottsdale Golf scene and in that vein we accept no commissions or "freebees" from anyone or anything that we would like to review for our readers.  I do not identify myself as a reviewer for any publication or website when I visit a golf course, restaurant or hotel. Chances are I have stayed there - played there - or eaten there anyway when I was working full-time in the business! As far as they know I am just another customer. If I have some inside information to share or a story about a particular subject, be it something that happened at a Scottsdale golf course or something I ate in a Scottsdale restaurant or what happened to me at a Scottsdale hotel, please bear with me because I promise to keep it short and relevant to the topic.

You Don't Have To Wonder How We Make Money

How do we make money if we don't charge for our service you ask? Well, we plan to offer anyone who has a relevant product or service relating to Golf or Golf Packaging in Scottsdale an opportunity to advertise on our site. We will only offer those ad opportunities to a select few advertisers because, #1, we don't want to mess up what we feel is a nice clean website and #2 it's just plain tacky to look like the firesuit of a Nascar driver. It may look cool on them but it makes a mess of a website! Besides, it's going to take us awhile to gather a significant number of advertisers anyway if we are as picky as we claim to be. I think the key to the success of my site will be to keep the Scottsdale golf consumer in mind when we offer our recommendations -  those Scottsdale Golf & Lodging providers that we feel are the best for our readers needs.

As far as advertising goes you can't be successful on the internet unless you have the traffic to support your advertisers. That means going about it the old fashioned way - you have to earn it. Your content must be original, relevant to the subject and most importantly, of interest to the reader. With consistency and time on the web you hope to develop adequate page-rank that will result in traffic to your site -  there are no shortcuts if you plan on doing it right. And if you don't the search engines will penalize you. So, ANY ad that doesn't pertain to Scottsdale and/or Golf in Scottsdale - or something that is not of particular interest to the Scottsdale Golfer - will not be offered here. Our advertisers will be there to provide you with choices. Does an ad for a widget in Wisconsin help the Scottsdale Golfer? Answer: NO! Also, can you imagine for one minute that a website promoting only it's own particular brand of Scottsdale Golf Package would allow a Google Adsense ad to appear on their site  - advertising a competitor? Not hardly! Over the last 23 years I have been fortunate to work in the Hospitality Industry and have been an active participant in the tremendous growth of tourism in Scottsdale, of which golf has played a major role. I have served on various Golf Committees with  members of the Scottsdale Chamber and the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and helped organize industry golf events for charity. I have rubbed elbows with the movers and shakers of the Scottsdale golf scene and a lot of it is not for normal publication but is worth telling my visitors about. Most of my best friends still work in the business of bringing people to Scottsdale and I rely a lot on them to keep my information current and inform my readers of special offerings like opportunities to play private clubs or discounts on Scottsdale golf.
