Starfire Golf Club

If you like traditional golf reminiscent of something you might see in the Midwest this is the place. Lakes, tree lined fairways and gently rolling terrain define a Scottsdale course that has been a local favorite since 1988. Conveniently located in north central Scottsdale, Starfire Golf Club offers beautiful views of the McDowell Mountains as you navigate 27 holes of Arnold Palmer designed golf. Featuring mature eucalyptus, pine and cottonwood trees, The King, Hawk and Squire nines all have their distinctive features with bunkers and water hazards coming into play on many holes.
On the surface it looks like easy, almost ho-hum golf but that is not the case at all. While it may not provide the same kind of challenges you see with a desert style, target course, this course can bite you. There are some good holes on this layout that will challenge any skill levels and what it lacks in drama is made up by conditioning and smooth putting surfaces. Their location in the middle of Scottsdale keeps you from having to drive very far and if you are trying to knock the rust off of your swing this is a good place to do it before you hit the really hard courses.
I have had a lot of fun at this facility over the years and it is a pleasant place to play. The setting is serene and relaxing and there is always shade to be found in this park-like setting. The price is right too.
