Ask The Scottsdale Golf Concierge
November 7, 2007Welcome to the Best Golf in the Southwest – Scottsdale, Arizona!
I am now referred to as the Scottsdale Golf "insider" even though I am considered by most of my peers in this business as "semi-retired." I still have a golf clientèle of my own that takes advantage of my "local knowledge" when planning a Scottsdale golf vacation. As many of them are repeat customers I would like to think that the success of their first trip brought them back. They were not only able to come at the right time (best rates, best weather) and secure the best tee times at the best courses but also were able to choose the accommodations that fit their desired location and budget. I rarely accept new clients these days but when I do it is usually groups of 16 or more. (Golf groups, particularly those that come in season (January-April) can be tricky and require quite a bit more work than foursomes.) Later, I plan to tell you where you can go to find the best Golf Package Suppliers in Scottsdale and how that will help you save money in the process.

Just for the record I have played all of the Scottsdale golf gourses I will talk about on this site and visited or stayed in most of the Scottsdale hotels and condos. As a former Scottsdale hotelier and golf packager I had to not only be an expert on golf in Scottsdale and the surrounding areas (it pays to know your competition) but on almost every other attraction as well. At the risk of sacrilege there are many things to do here besides play golf – jeep and hummer tours, hot air balloons, desert tours, museums and all kinds of outdoor activities abound. My knowledge of golf had to be supplemented with many other Scottsdale activities and I watched them build and toured and site inspected just about every accommodation and activity this city has to offer. This ear-marked me as sort of a City Concierge. It sometimes makes me feel old because the young newcomers to Scottsdale who work in the industry are always saying "ask Schaefer" whenever someone asks a question that requires a lesson in Scottsdale golf history.
