Why Scottsdale Voted Best Place To Live In The US For Golf
November 7, 2007According to the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, One of the nation's leading upscale lifestyle publications, The Robb Report, recently proclaimed Scottsdale as the "Best Place to Live in the United States For Golf" and it is consistently ranked highly by the top golf publications as one of THE places to play golf in the world. I can tell you as a resident that while it may be a great place for sheer numbers of courses, it can be an expensive hobby here in Scottsdale for locals. Make no mistake, Scottsdale is a seasonal destination because of it's wonderful winter weather. When most of the world is freezing from January to May it seems that everyone wants to be here and you know the old rule about supply and demand. When inventory is low, prices are steep and they call it; "high" season for a reason.
The Robb report does not specifically mention how our winter climate is factored in to what makes Scottsdale one of the best places to live for golf in the USA but I would imagine it makes all the difference. From early January to mid-April you should book as early as you can, to avoid sticker shock come in the fall where prices are lower and the weather is still great. If where you live is so cold & miserable that you must escape in the winter months it is especially important to speak to a Scottsdale based packager for the "inside" scoop on where to stay and play. The internet is full of high prices and to get any kind of a deal you have to speak to someone who lives here.
