Springtime Is Deal Time In Scottsdale
November 7, 2007Season # 2 This short season basically covers the month of May, a month that can be very nice, weather wise. It is commonly referred to as Spring Season and the dates can come as early as April 15th and end around June 1st. I realize that in a previous post I stated that Peak Season included the month of April and this is generally true, especially in N. Scottsdale. However, this is a "shoulder" season where the weather is still good (high 80's to low 90's & balmy nights) and because there are so many choices here for courses and rooms the competition to make April's budget can be fierce. AND it's fiscal year end for hotels. That means, ask for a better rate and chances are you will get it.
Golf course prices will have dropped to their spring rates by mid-April and many hotels will have done so as well. What that means to you, the consumer, is that there are deals to be had especially in that window of April 15th to April 30th. April also starts a new budget quarter for hotels and they want to get off on the right foot. My advice for booking during this period applies applies to any size party but particularly to groups of 16 or more that have greater buying power in shoulder seasons. For example: if you plan on traveling to Scottsdale in mid to late May, ask for the summer rate that doesn't officially start until June 1! Negotiate!
