PGA And LPGA Spotting In Scottsdale
October 31, 2007These Guys (and Gals) Are Good!
If you follow the PGA Tour you can't come to Scottsdale and not be impressed by the number of the "These Guys Are Good" crowd that call Scottsdale home or choose to practice here. Young guns like the ultra-cool, Aaron Baddely pounding balls at the exclusive Whisper Rock CC. Tom Lehman and Tom Weiskopf have permanent Scottsdale addresses as do a number of PGA and LPGA contenders including Phil Mickleson, Andrew Magee, Hale Irwin, Jim Carter, Brandel Chamblee, Kirk Triplett, Billy Mayfair, Jonathon Kaye, Tom Purtzer, Curt Byrum, Gary McCord, Mike Nicolette, Dan Pohl, Jerry Smith, Grace Park, Carin Koch, and Danielle and Dina Ammaccapane.
I just love it when I hear the starter on the first tee of a televised PGA Tour event announce, "now playing, from Scottsdale, Arizona…" And you can hear it in person at the FBR Open, Scottsdale's "Greatest Show On Grass" where the final round comes on Super Bowl Sunday (which by the way is in Glendale, Arizona in 2008). It is the most attended golf tournament on the PGA Tour and quite the party.
Both celebs and the stars of the PGA Tour can be spotted at some of Scottsdale's better restaurants and clubs. Greg Norman was just here and Britney Spears is here all the time.
