Market Bistro

December 31, 2009

market BistroLocals will remember the site of the old Boston Market at 64th St. and Greenway, it's now Market Bistro and has been since about a year ago. I hadn't had the opportunity to go there until last week and I'm really glad I did.

Friendly and helpful staff, super fast service and great food awaits you just around the corner from the Westin Kierland Resort  in Scottsdale.

I had the California Turkey sandwich which combines a large portion of grilled carved turkey, avocado mayo, swiss cheese, oven roasted tomatoes with romaine tossed in oregano vinaigrette on sourdough. You can sub the sourdough for faccacia or pumpernickel bread. Really a tasty sandwich and it went well with their excellent homemade tomato basil soup.

My wife had the Market Caesar Salad, their version of the classic with romaine, rosemary croutons, parmesan crisps, and served with buttermilk caesar dressing.
They make their side dishes fresh daily and may include any of the following: sour cream and chive whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, mac and cheese, cumin and brown sugar carrots, roasted potatoes, pasta salad and fruit salad.
They keep things uncomplicated here at the Market Bistro as both decor and menu are simple and straightforward. There are so many variations of pizza, salads and sandwiches here that you could eat here for a year and not repeat an item. We were quite happy with our salad and sandwich selection, portions were generous and prices were about what you would expect for Scottsdale – but they get major points for delievering on taste and service.
You can order takeout service online with Market Bistro and have it ready to go when you get there.
